Cookie policy

Last updated 16 July 2026.

This is Aven’s current operational cookie notice. It explains the cookies and similar technologies Aven uses, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them, and similar local-storage technologies, to keep you signed in, to keep the service secure, and - with your consent - to understand how the product is used.

The categories we use

  • Strictly necessary - sign-in sessions and security (via Supabase Auth) and basic preferences. These are required for the service to work and do not need consent.
  • Payments - set by Stripe during checkout to process payment securely and prevent fraud.
  • Analytics & advertising (consent-based) - PostHog (EU region) helps us understand product usage; Vercel Web Analytics measures website usage; Google Ads measures advertising conversions; and the LinkedIn Insight Tag measures conversions and supports LinkedIn Matched Audiences. These services load only after you accept. Depending on the provider, they may use page and referrer URLs, browser or device information, shortened IP-derived information, consented identifiers, and conversion events. Aven does not intentionally send source code, evidence-pack contents, or HMRC identifiers to these services.

Aven uses Google Ads and LinkedIn advertising measurement only with consent. LinkedIn Matched Audiences can recognise a consented visitor across participating sites. Declining non-essential cookies keeps PostHog, Vercel Web Analytics, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Insight off in Aven.

Managing cookies

Use the persistent Cookie settings control at the bottom of any Aven page to accept, decline, or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops future non-essential tag activity in Aven and clears provider cookies on the Aven domain where the browser allows it. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, including provider cookies set on a third-party domain. Strictly necessary cookies remain because sign-in and payment security need them. To ask about cookies or your data, email hello@avenhq.com.

Consent record and provider retention

Aven records your decision, the notice version, and its timestamp in local storage on your device. Google, LinkedIn, PostHog, and Vercel process consented analytics or advertising data under their own service terms and retention settings. Aven’s supplier and legal review verifies those settings before real-client launch.

Changes

We’ll update this policy as the service evolves and note the date above. Aven is operated under the trading name Aven HQ; full company details will be added on incorporation.
